Rob Roy swingbridge 2
The Rob Roy swingbridge is only 15 minutes walk from the Raspberry Flat car-park, crossing the West Matukituki River. After the bridge the track climbs through a small gorge in beech forest, then into alpine vegetation at the head of the valley, with grand views of the Rob Roy Glacier. Thanks to the ease of access and the magnificent alpine scenery, it is one of the most popular day walks in Mount Aspiring National Park.br/br/Located west of Lake Wanaka, the Matukituki Valley is a good entry point to an area of spectacular alpine scenery, snowfields, glaciers, sheer rock cliffs and waterfalls above the beech forest and grasslands.
