Lake Dunstan in the gorge 1
Lake Dunstan is a man-made lake in Central Otago formed on the Clutha River as a result of the construction of the Clyde Dam, completed in 1992. While the dam generates electricity for New Zealand's power grid, it also provides irrigation for nearby stone fruit orchards and vineyards. It is also a major recreational asset, with facilities for boating, waterskiing, fishing, parapenting, and rowing.
