Knife & Steel Harbour sunset 6

Knife & Steel Harbour sunset 6

Knife amp; Steel Harbour is 26 km west of Port Craig along the remote coast of south-west New Zealand. The area is uninhabited and is towards the western edge of Foveaux Strait, while inland is the Waitutu Forest and the South Coast track. Fishing boats occasionally use the harbour to shelter overnight. Due to its isolation, seafood is abundant along this coastline.br/br/The South Coast track passes close to Knife amp; Steel Harbour, alternatively if the tide is low trampers may travel across the bay enroute from the mouth of the Waitutu River as far as the Arn River mouth. The route is marked and maintained by the Department of Conservation as far as Big River, on the edge of southern Fiordland.
