Sutherland Falls is one of the most well known waterfalls in New Zealand. The falls drop directly out of Lake Quill, water cascading in three steps totalling an awesome 580 metres. The base of Sutherland Falls is a short walk from Quintin Public Shelter, branching off the Milford Track. This has long been described as "the finest walk in the world". Located in southern New Zealand, this 3-4 day journey crosses a steep mountain pass before meandering down the densely forested Arthur Valley, ending at Milford Sound in the heart of Fiordland.
