Mute Swans (Cygnus olor) originate from across temperate parts of the Northern Hemisphere. Mute swans have pure white plumage and are among the largest flying birds in the world. The sexes are alike in plumage, but males are generally bigger and heavier than females

Swans feed in the water and on land. They are almost entirely herbivorous, although they may eat small amounts of aquatic animals by 'dabbling' and the classic 'up-ending' to feed off submerged plants.
