Monkey Mia - Bottlenose Dolphin 1

Monkey Mia - Bottlenose Dolphin 1

The common bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops truncatus) inhabits temperate and tropical oceans throughout the world. They live in groups called pods that typically number about 15 individuals but may be significantly more up to 1000 in a super-pod. These mammals are very smart - they have a bigger brain than humans.

Monkey Mia is a popular tourist resort located about 800 km north of Perth, Western Australia. The main attraction is the daily feeding of the bottlenose dolphins that have been coming close to shore for more than forty years.
