The Laughing Kookaburra (Dacelo novaeguineae) are best known for their unmistakable call, which sounds uncannily like good-natured, but rather hysterical human laughter. They often sing as a chorus to mark their territory.

Kookaburras are a carnivorous kingfisher, feeding on lizards, snakes, insects, mice and small birds.
