The Satin Bowerbird (Ptilonorhynchus violaceus) is a bowerbird endemic to eastern Australia.
Like all bowerbirds, the Satin Bowerbird shows highly complex courtship behaviour where males build specialized stick structures, called bowers, which they decorate with colourful or shiny objects. Together with the males performing an elaborate dance, the females may then select their mate.
