Crossing a temporary bridge on the Prairie in the Clinton Valley
Tramper crossing a temporary bridge on the Prairie in the Clinton Valley. During the months of winter and early spring, avalanches pepper the Milford Track on a regular basis with the majority of bridges being removed during this 'closed season'. The Milford Track has long been described as "the finest walk in the world". Located in southern New Zealand, this 3-4 day journey crosses a steep mountain pass before meandering down the densely forested Arthur Valley, ending at Milford Sound in the heart of Fiordland.
